Standard Steel's Quality Control Department offers a wide range of capabilities. Railway wheels and axles are inspected in accordance with the Association of American Railroads Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices, M-107/M-208 and M-101, respectively. Specifically, railway wheels are ultrasonically inspected utilizing 'state-of-the-art' Phased Array technology. This enables a more thorough and expedient method of inspecting for subcutaneous defects; therefore ensuring the highest product quality. The technicians performing the final quality inspections have the training and experience required ensuring that the product conforms to industry and customer specifications.
